Senior Program Manager
to lead the Projects Support Group.
THE WORK YOU WILL DO
The
Senior Program Manager
is responsible for people management, workload assignments, quality control, and task oversight to execute the engineering tasks in support of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems in all university buildings. The
Senior Program Manager
is responsible to set and review program goals, review the technical content of engineering assessments, and to train and develop engineering staff. This position reports directly to the Director of Engineering and is accountable for the engineering support of FPM.
The Engineering Services Team consists of technical experts in the area of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire life safety and commissioning. The team is responsible for technical scope development, assessment reports, and design reviews, along with providing construction administration technical support. The engineering team works in tandem with Project Managers and Shop Managers to ensure that all technical aspects of systems, whether new, repairs or replacements, meet the needs of the University. The engineering team also drives the standards within the USC Facility Design Guidelines. The Projects Support Group is focused on quality control & quality assurance for construction projects on USC campuses including new buildings, tenant improvements, and renovations.
The Senior Program Manager, Engineering Services
- Is responsible to lead a focused team of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineers, having oversight of workload management, expectations, accountabilities, and responsibilities. Responsibilities also include creating and driving the program goals, SLAs and KPIs.
- Provides quality assurance to Customers
- Provides quality control of all support services provided by the Team.
- Acts as the liaison between Engineering Services and the Project Management team. May also engage with the university community.
- Displays strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Has experience managing engineering teams
- Displays strong technical background in mechanical, electrical, plumbing and/or fire protection systems.
- Displays strong organizational skills including workload management and time management
The work hours for the team are between Monday-Friday 6:00AM-5:00PM
.
This position has a flexible work schedule within these hours. A hybrid schedule (including in-office and work from home) is also available for this position. Work schedules may change at any time to accommodate business needs.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate for the position of Engineering Program Manager meets the following criteria:
- Education/degree in a related field
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in mechanical, electrical, plumbing and/or fire protection design.
- Demonstrated experience in the management of technical teams. Experience with facilities support teams a plus.
- Professional Engineering License (PE) in the state of California a plus.
- Experience in facilities management and/or installation/construction experience a plus.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates for the position of
Senior Program Manager
must meet the following qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in an engineering field
- Directly related education and management experience with increasing leadership/management responsibility in electrical, mechanical, or plumbing and/or fire protection systems.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
The annual base salary range for this position is $125,837.67 – $130,000.00.
