This position is based in San Antonio, TX; Plano, TX; Phoenix, AZ.



What You’ll Do

Under direct supervision, you will perform routine work assignments and problem resolution to support other team members tasks.


Software Engineers

: provides support to the Enterprise through delivering best in class technology solutions! Engaged in all phases of the software systems and application development lifecycle which include capturing and analyzing requirements, designing, testing, documenting, and implementing software, responding to outages.



Primary Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, code, and test technical solutions collaborating with senior engineers.
  • Participate in code/design reviews
  • May begin to help organize work to deliver features and solutions
  • Resolves complex production issues with independence by solving complex applications and systems independently.


Data Engineers:

Data Engineers deliver quality reporting and data intelligence solutions to the organization and assist client teams with drawing insights to make informed, data driven decisions. Data Engineers (DEs) are engaged in all phases of the data management lifecycle; assemble and analyze requirements, collect, process, store and secure, use, share and communicate, archive, reuse and repurpose data.



Primary Responsibilities

  • Follows written risk and compliance policies and procedures for business activities
  • Investigates and resolves complex application and system technical problems and production issues by advising solving of end-to-end solutions.
  • Design, write, test and deploy data pipeline code
  • Participate in design and code review sessions


Infrastructure Engineer:

Responsible for creating, modifying, maintaining and supporting infrastructure and individual system components that enable business functions and IT Services. Balance availability, security, efficiency and functional requirements to help provide an optimized production service.



Primary Responsibilities

  • Learns how to design scalable infrastructure, starts to implement system change, learns how to automate service delivery and maintenance tasks and starts to build monitoring and tooling activities
  • Learns how to independently resolve production issues through solving of systems
  • Starts to analyze outages in order to find opportunities
  • Learns how to experiment with new patterns and technologies



What You Need To Have

To qualify, you must be Pursuing a bachelor’s degree or higher at a 4-year accredited university and plan to graduate after the final day of the internship. Most of our interns participate the summer between their junior and senior years.

Our 2023 internship will start on May 31, 2023 and last through August 11, 2023.

  • Graduation date cannot be prior August 11, 2023
  • 0 to 2 years of related experience and accountability for simple to moderately complex tasks and/or projects required
  • Foundational and conceptual knowledge of the function/field and demonstrated application of knowledge, skills and abilities towards work products required
  • Foundational level of business acuity in the areas of the business operations, industry practices and emerging trends required



What Sets You Apart

  • Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems or related field
  • Graduation date between August 12, 2023 and July 2025

What We Offer


Compensation:

USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the hourly range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual hourly rate for this role may vary by location. The range for this position is: $22 – $34

.

Interns will receive an intern stipend to assist with expenses.
