Responsible for leading a team engaged in guiding senior leadership through the prioritization and coordination of key deliverables and activities, interpretation of business operations and/or Centers of Excellence (CoE) analyses and initiatives, and the development of appropriate action plans and responses to address business issues and/or compliance and regulatory issues. Leads the development and implementation of strategic and operational plans to achieve success within key results areas. Oversees the communication support to senior leadership for Board/Council/Committees, strategic or operational planning events, monthly business meetings, and/or compliance and regulatory requirements.
The Opportunity
What You’ll Do
- Identifies and manages existing and emerging risks that stem from business activities and the job role.
- Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled.
- Follows written risk and compliance policies, standards, and procedures for business activities.
- Oversees a team responsible for facilitating strategic and operational planning, development of action plans, and communication of strategic objectives, goals, and results.
- Responsible for the coordination of EMG, EC, CEO, and BoD driven requirements.
- Leads and oversees the development of materials for the Board of Directors by working with key partners including CEO Office, Executive Team, and/or CoSA Chief of Staff Team.
- Establishes protocols for communicating development, operations and organizational development work that enhances flow of information across all levels of the organization.
- Builds strong relationships with the CoSA Leadership, Chief of Staff to the CEO, Executive Team and various partners to enhance execution and delivery on a variety of business priorities.
- Provides advice and guidance and negotiates approval of deliverable materials with executive management and subject-matter experts prior to securing final approval from senior executive or EC member. Ensures communications meet established standards of appearance and content and that all logistical requirements are satisfied.
- Builds and oversees a team of employees for assigned functional area through ongoing execution of recruiting, development, retention, coaching and support, performance management, and managerial activities.
What You Have
- Bachelor’s Degree; OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.
- 8 years of project/program management experience supporting senior level executives, corporate event planning and/or managing executive level communications.
- 3 years of direct team lead or management experience.
- Demonstrated ability to influence, interact and collaborate positively with executive leadership (C-Suite) and communicate complex concepts clearly.
- Ability to balance varying responsibilities that span rhythm of business, communications, executive management, and culture and leads teams to through ambiguity.
- Demonstrated capability to influence and navigate in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks with competing deadlines, and demonstrate forward-thinking and planning.
- Experience ensuring processes are in adherence to corporate governance requirements.

- 3-5 years recent risk management experience.
- Advanced understanding of risk management policies and procedures.
- Experience with oversite of management committees.
- Collaboration skills in a matrixed environment including providing consultative guidance to help solve enterprise level issues.
- Collaborates with key partners and project/program teams to identify mutually beneficial outcomes for contending priorities and negotiate timelines to ensure objectives are met.

Compensation:
USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location. The salary range for this position is: $104,660 – $199,970
.
Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
