Overview
The Associate Style Director for UO Women’s is responsible for being a trend leader for the UO Women’s E-commerce and Editorial team. They will partner with the Styling Director to set seasonal styling direction and pairings. They will oversee e-commerce sets weekly to set a strong tone, as well as supporting the editorial message process. They should have a strong background in leadership, as they will oversee a team of e-commerce stylists. Experience working cross functionally with Art Direction, Photo, Studio Ops, Casting, Production, and Merchandising is necessary.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of e-commerce stylists by providing seasonal trend and pairing direction
- Attend weekly handoff with buyers to review the upcoming week’s product, discuss key items,
and review styling notes
- Work with Studio Ops, Casting, AD, Merchandising, and Styling Director to split weekly handoff
across models for the upcoming week
- Create mood boards for each upcoming set to share with the studio team and stylists
- Partner with Studio Ops and AD to manage the weekly studio schedule which includes in house
team and freelance
- Review completed outfits with stylists each morning to note any call outs pre-shoot and adjust as
needed
- Ensure that sets reach shot count goals and minimize potential carryover
- Delegate tasks to ensure that the studio stays tidy and sample flow + organization are maintained
Trend Leadership
- Strong understanding of trends and ability to adapt them to the UO customer
- Continuously reviewing runway, editorial, influencer, and social media content to apply to
e-commerce and editorial imagery
- Compile and present seasonal and reactionary trend decks to Styling Director and team
- Work with buyers to ensure styling bays are complete with trend forward and big idea product
- Ability to showcase strong detailing in e-commerce and editorial styling
Management
- Ability to lead in a positive, effective, and supportive manner
- Work one-on-one with stylists to support, train, and grow skill sets
Qualifications
- 4+ years of management experience
- 8+ years of on-set E-Commerce lead stylist experience
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office + Adobe Creative Suite
- Editorial styling experience is a must
Education
Bachelor’s degree in fashion arts, design, merchandising, product development
