Position: Procurement Coordinator

Reports to: Megan Cox

Location: Reno FC&DC

Schedule: Monday – Friday (Days)

Candidate should be a motivated team player with good attitude and possess organizational and communication skills. Individual should be able to function well in a multi-task environment with attention to detail, and willing to accept new and diverse assignments. Candidate must be able to work with all organizational levels including fellow-employees, customers, and management. In this position, you will manage resources and coordinate activities that meet or exceed supply needs as dictated by business. The primary function of the purchasing specialist is to ensure that items in their assigned categories are sourced to meet the needs of the business from the point of view of cost, quality, and availability while minimizing waste. The purchasing specialist will develop expertise in their assigned categories ensuring the supply market is well understood, including potential risks and contingencies.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Maintain appropriate levels of indirect supply in direct relation to business forecasts.
  • Source suppliers based on price availability necessity quality and logistical expenses.
  • Oversee site spend to indirect supply budget.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure that all indirect supplies are available, and needs are addressed.
  • Coordinate with vendors and shipping agencies to ensure timely deliveries and oversee the integrity and quality of delivered goods.
  • Authorizing payments and managing purchasing expenses with meticulous record keeping.
  • Maintain a Safe, Organized, Clean and Secure environment.
  • Must exercise precise and professional verbal and written communications.
  • Analytical thinking ability.
  • Excellent judgement and decision-making skills.
  • Maintain professional internal and external partnerships.
  • Prepare purchase orders by verifying specifications and price; obtaining recommendations from suppliers; monitoring and expediting orders.
  • Oversees inventory control by ensuring all receipts are verified by comparing items received to items ordered; resolves shipments in error with supplier. Additionally, ensuring all daily and end of month inventories are completed and accurate.
  • Keeps all records up to date.
  • Reconciliation of purchase process to payment.
  • Accomplishes purchasing and organization mission by completing related results as needed.

Experience

  • 1-3 years successful previous purchasing experience.
  • Proven results in relation to purchasing experience.
  • Ability to demonstrate the ability to problem solve efficiently and appropriately.
  • High school degree or GED required
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Dependable and accurate.
  • Excellent organizational methods.
  • Work well under pressure and time constraints
  • Ability to regularly lift and move up to 55 pounds


Computer Skill Requirements

  • Great organizational skills.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to navigate purchasing software.
  • Knowledge of how to use radio frequency equipment.
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)


Physical Demands

  • Stand / walk for an extended time period
  • Climb, balance, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Lift freight and other objects of various shapes, sizes and weights up to 55 pounds
  • Operate warehouse equipment as required for position (i.e. forklift, pallet jack, cherry picker) which requires coordinated movements

Works in a warehouse environment in all types of weather. The employee may operate warehouse equipment. Using proper safety procedures will eliminate any potential hazards. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
