UPMC Presbyterian and UPMC Shadyside hospitals are currently hiring nurses for their RN4Life program!

This new program is for nurses who recently retired within the past two years seeking to return to the bedside as a nurse coach for new staff with less than one year of experience in practice. The focus of this program is to bring back the knowledge and expertise of nurses who have retired but still want to be at the bedside-coaching and mentoring.

Traits these nurses have that would make them the ideal candidate for consideration for this pilot program would be:

  • Expert Clinician
  • High performer
  • Inter collaboration skills-known by physician colleagues, Clinical Directors, and Unit Directors as the “go-to nurse” on the unit
  • Professional role model
  • Mentoring skills



Qualifications


  • Current licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse either in the state where the facility is located or in a state covered by a licensure compact agreement with the state where the facility is located.
  • CPR is required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.
  • UPMC approved certification preferred
